The end is near. Alas his injury didn’t help much. And the unexpected rise in from of Patrice Evra aided in his downfall. But thank you for all the good times. A wonderful defender who covered brilliantly when the chips were down.

Ya. A player that plays with his heart showing at all times. The other player is Rooney.
But 5 million is a good deal for Man U because of his age. You need speed in the EPl. Especially defenders and strikers.

yea but hes the epitomy of heart man…other than rooney lah. i will be sad to see him go, as will undoubtedly many manu fans. wasnt he manu player of the year in his first season or something?

also very sad that one of his last moments for manu was getting his upper torso almost chopped off by evra from which kaka went on to score against manu

yes, he was the matt busby player of the year for his first season. Doesn’t he remind you of the Spartan from 300…”THIS IS SPARTA!!”

He is one of the best defenders in the world during that 1st season. Not saying he won’t attain such form in the future. For me he delivered the tackle of the century. Sandwich sliding tackle on Morientes totally sent Mor confused for the rest of his 1st Liverpool season, only to recover a season later at Valencia.
